What is Reiki?

In the 1900's Dr Mikao Usui rediscovered how to re-awaken the body's natural ability to heal itself. He created a structured system so that anyone who wanted to learn this technique could do so for both self-healing and healing others. This system is called the Usui System of Natural Healing, or Reiki.

How does it work?

Reiki is a hands-on Qi-based healing modality. It involves a practitioner placing his/her hands lightly on the body in a series of positions to allow the patient to draw Qi in for maintaining wellness, and healing specific injuries, illnesses or issues. Reiki is primarily used for ones own health, and to enhance wellbeing.

Once attuned, an individual can use reiki for life, however regular use and study are required to continually develop the individual's ability to heal. Reiki is used in hands-on work, as well as at-a-distance healing. Reiki compliments other related practices such as Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Meditation, Martial Arts, Massage, Acupuncture etc.

Reiki heals the root cause of a problem and the symptoms simultaneously. It also works on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies all at the same time. Example; Reiki would help a headache from stress by treating both the physical and mental tension, and it would work on the root cause that makes you live your life stressfully.

How do I learn Reiki?

Reiki is studied at 3 levels;

• Reiki 1 ; Healing yourself and others through a ‘hands-on' approach. Working physically with the Reiki.
• Reiki 2 ; Healing at a distance, and use of more advanced techniques.
• Reiki Advanced (3A); Attunement to the Master Level energy for all types of healing.

The ELC is offering Reiki Level 1 as a 1-day weekend course in its portfolio.

A manual is also issued which gives full notes on everything covered during the course.

Please register online first to reserve your place.  You will then receive a confirmation email.  Next, payment must be made on site at the ELC Learning Annex during the payment dates (you can come in person or send someone).
 

Please note: Our classes are kept small for the students' benefit (generally between 5 and 10 people), so please register early to reserve your place.  Your place in the class cannot be guaranteed until payment has been received.  Any course that does not meet sufficient enrollment may be cancelled and a full refund provided upon presentation of your original receipt.
