E-Commerce
Whether
you need to acquire the vocabulary and concepts needed to ask the right
questions and make informed choices about your organization's Web
strategy, to update your own technical skills with current best
practices, or simply to understand the implications of e-commerce on the
market itself, this course is for you. Through a combination of lectures
and case studies from Harvard Business School, students will gain a
broad understanding of all issues facing e-commerce operations,
including: business models, Web architectures, security, online payment
processing, pricing and marketing on the Internet, regulatory issues,
valuation models, the impact of new technologies such as Web Services
and the problems facing e-commerce operations in China. This course is
intended for managers and entrepreneurs who are looking at all this from
a high-level perspective and need to make decisions as to what direction
they will take their companies in regarding e-commerce. We will also
take a look at e-business at large, discussing the relevance of such
areas as VoIP telephony and online gaming.
