Stained Glass: Tiffany Technique

Stained glass windows are made in the same way today as they were 1000 years ago. This course will teach you the Tiffany copper foil technique, which was invented in the 19th century by the celebrated American jewelry and glass designer - Louis Comfort Tiffany.
During this 2 month course you will learn basic stained glass terminology, techniques and get a lot of practical experience.

You will learn about:
different types of glass
how to cut and break the glass
how to make a design for stained glass
constructing piece patterns
foiling
soldering

By the end of this course you will have created 2 pieces of stained glass work. First – a simple design to exercise newly acquired skills and second – your own design.

You certainly will not be as good as Tiffany, but you will have learned the basic principles and after that it is just practice,....practice....practice! This course will be the base from which you can start making beautiful stained glass lampshades, mirrors, boxes, candle holders, picture frames, etc. to decorate your home or as gifts for your family and friends.
