- Professional Digital Photography Workflow -

Taught by:

Discover the advantages of shooting RAW format and editing in Adobe
Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. Geared to photographers wishing to
establish a professional workflow, this course takes advantage of the
most recent developments in digital technology. All levels are
welcome and guidance on equipment purchases can be provided. No one
will be left behind. The following topics are covered:

Camera control: aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, histogram
File management: importing, metadata, backup, hardware
Adobe Lightroom: basic editing, color space, slideshows, exporting
websites, Adobe Photoshop: basic editing, selecting, masking, retouching, b&w conversions. Off-camera flash: metering,
studio lighting, Printing: file preparation, printer profiles, ink jet, digital-c.

Learn to take advantage of your gear to the fullest in order to
expand your photographic vision and capture better images. All
technical and aesthetic issues will be addressed from releasing the
shutter to preparing exhibition-quality prints. Readings and
assignments will also be provided along with regular in-class
critiques. Students are encouraged to develop their own projects
throughout the course and challenge themselves to cultivate new
perspectives on their surrounding environment - Beijing has a lot to
offer for photographers. Students should have cameras capable of
shooting RAW format and, ideally, access to a computer with Adobe
Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.

This course will also include a wealth of invaluable learning materials such as Photography E-Books, Videos and Software which will be provided throughout the course and can be taken with you at the end of ten weeks.
